The Role


Under general direction, the Trainer will be responsible for conducting applicable training programs for Agency departments.  These training programs will include mandated trainings from regulatory bodies as well as mandatory and non-mandatory Agency specific trainings.  This person will actively search, creatively design, implement and conduct trainings that educate and enhance the performance of Agency-wide staff.  This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Samaritan Daytop Village.

Responsibilities


What You Will Do


  • Forms training objectives, strategies and executes plans.
  • Conducts mandatory and non-mandatory trainings throughout Agency.
  • Develops innovative ways for conducting trainings.
  • Works with Agency programs in devising trainings that meet their staffs’ needs.
  • Makes suggestions to Assistant Director on enhancing existing training programs.
  • Obtains and/or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media sources.
  • Ensures that training materials utilized are current and applicable.
  • Demonstrates desired culture and philosophies of Agency.
  • Conducts follow-ups of trainings to evaluate and measure results.
  • Conducts annual training and development needs assessment.

Qualifications


Who You Will Be


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field.
  • At least Three-Five (3-5) years of prior training experience in OASAS and/or DHS field.
  • Experience with E-Training Tools.
  • Working knowledge of various teaching methods and approaches.
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity and resourceful when developing training materials
