Junior Financial Analyst

Salary: $60,000-$70,000

The Role


Under general direction, is responsible for providing analysis and forecasts of agency operations and budgets and ad hoc reporting.  He/she will provide strategic support to Agency management including review of financial presentations, capital expenditure analysis, general ledger analysis, revenue projections/modeling, industry comparisons and other projects as requested.

Responsibilities


What You Will Do

 

  • Create and maintain monthly budget variance reports.
  • Analyzes current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenues, expenses, capital expenditures, and loan documents.
  • Monitors budgets, highlights trends, and analyzes causes of unexpected variance.
  • Reviews quarterly and monthly financial reports.
  • Performs ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and project management.
  • Develops financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives.
  • Analyzes complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely recommendations for decision-making purposes.
  • Supports management team with financial and operational guidance and recommendations.
  • Creates charts, graphs, and PowerPoints to illustrate presentation.
  • Conducts cost benefit analysis.
  • Creates forecasts of future revenues using multiple scenarios.
  • Consolidates and analyzes financial data considering the Agency’s goals and financial standing.
  • Identifies trends and recommends actions based on sound analysis.
  • Provides creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
  • Keeps abreast of changes in the field.
  • Performs other duties as requested

Qualifications


Who You Will Be


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • At least 1 year of Financial Analyst/Accounting experience
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be familiar with General Ledgers
  • Hands on experience with statistical analysis and statistical packages
  • Ability to analyze and anticipate situations, define problems, recognize alternatives and formulate solutions
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access) and database applications.
