The Role

 

Under the general direction of the Operations Coordinator I, with some latitude for independent action, the Residence Worker provides direct assistance, support, and care to clients residing in the facility as well as supporting, assisting, and enforcing facility rules.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

  • Provide clients with an orientation of the facility services, protocols, and policies upon arrival.
  • Supports clients with the check-in process, monitoring behavior and overall well-being.
  • Utilizing the Department of Homeless Services (DHS) Client Assistance and Rehousing Enterprise Systems (CARES) to complete Intake Check-in, Discharge Conditional Intake
  • Conduct hourly rounds of the facility to ensure all room doors are secured and clients' personal belongings are secured.
  • Advocates for the client’s needs, making referrals to and collaborating with appropriate resources.
  • Observes clients in day-to-day routines: maintains informal contact and develops informal opportunities to assist when needed
  • Reports and documents the incidents.
  • Bag and tag client personal belongings where needed and report room cleaning and repair needs to the Shift Supervisor.

Qualifications

Who You Will Be

  • Someone with a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma
  • One year of experience working with at-risk people who have complex needs in a similar working environment.
  • Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, EMR, and the ability to learn new technologies and databases.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Willingness to obtain a CPR Certification and/or Food Protection Certificate while employed with Samaritan Daytop Village.
