The Role


The Program Director, Crisis Stabilization Center is responsible for the overall clinical management and administrative operations of Samaritan's new Crisis Stabilization Center in Blauvelt, NY (Rockland County). The Program Director is responsible for managing and monitoring the job performance of all program employees; assuring the quality of clinical services provided to persons served and the communications between program employees and agency administration.

Responsibilities


What You Will Do


  • Supervises and monitors environment to ensure that behavioral guidelines are followed, a therapeutic environment is maintained and interpersonal relationships remain positive.
  • Monitors quality, effectiveness and efficiency of program’s clinical services and safety of environment of care.
  • Manages program services, improves existing services and develops new treatment components to meet needs of persons served.
  • Helps develop, implement and deploy agency policy and procedures.
  • Provides clinical and administrative supervision to program staff.
  • Interviews, hires, trains, appraises, disciplines and may terminate subordinate staff
  • Provides administrative supervision for plant operations; ensures a safe and secure environment of care.
  • Ensures clinical staff maintains accurate, complete and timely records that comply with regulatory standards and agency internal policy and procedure.
  • Ensures that all program staff upholds the agency's Code of Conduct/Code of Ethics and comply with all Federal, state and local law/regulation, including 42 CFR confidentiality and HIPAA privacy and security regulations.

Qualifications


Who You Will Be


  • At least 4 years of experience in mental health and/or substance use disorder services
  • At least 4 years of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Meets Professional Staff requirements under 14 NYCRR Part 600 with a qualifying NYSED license (LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LMFT, Psychologist, RN, Physician, NP, PA, etc.)
  • Master’s degree in a behavioral health or healthcare-related field preferred
  • Experience in crisis services, psychiatric emergency programs, or acute behavioral health settings
  • Familiarity with OMH/OASAS program requirements
  • Experience serving diverse populations and individuals with co-occurring disorders
  • Knowledge of NYS Mental Hygiene Law, 14 NYCRR Part 600, crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, harm reduction, LOCADTR, evidence-based assessments, and MAT
  • Strong leadership, communication, crisis de-escalation, program management, and data-informed decision-making skills
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, maintain composure in high-stress situations, and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Flexibility to work in a 24/7 crisis environment, including on-call response
