The Role


Under the general supervision of the Program Director, the Clerical Support Associate is responsible for performing clerical work in various administrative and operational areas within the clinic. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Samaritan Daytop Village.

 

Responsibilities


What You Will Do


  • Communicates regularly with management and operational staff.
  • Greets patients coming into the clinic.
  • Performs registration and processing of all patients entering the clinic for care.
  • Professionally answers phones, screens call, directs calls to the appropriate person, and takes accurate, complete messages when necessary.
  • Obtains and verifies patient insurance information including Medicaid and may seek approvals.
  • Prepares and updates medical charts and records.
  • Enters patient data into files and databases.
  • Orders and maintains inventories of supplies for clinical and administrative operations.
  • Arranges equipment maintenance and repair.

Qualifications


Who You Will Be


  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • At least one (1) year prior experience in a Clinic or Medical Office.
  • Working knowledge of general office equipment, such as printers, scanners, and fax machines.
  • Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR.
  • Ability to display excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize work and multi-task.
  • Some flexibility is needed and willingness to stay past the normal shift and/or adjust the schedule to meet tight deadlines.
  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of patient records.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic. backgrounds.
