Clinical Instructor

As part of our Training Department, the Clinical Instructor delivers NYSED-approved continuing education courses to licensed behavioral health professionals. This role facilitates engaging, evidence-based sessions using adult learning principles and supports workforce development in areas such as trauma-informed care, ethics, and clinical supervision.
Deliver engaging training sessions using approved materials and adult learning techniques tailored to Ethics in the Field of Behavioral Health, Substance Use Trends and Pharmacology, Trauma-Informed Care, and the dynamics of counselor-client relationships.
Ensure instruction meets NYSED CEU standards and aligns with stated learning objectives
Foster an inclusive, respectful learning environment for participants from diverse professional backgrounds
Facilitate discussion, reflection, and case-based learning relevant to the application of ethical decision-making frameworks, clinical approaches for co-occurring disorders, maintaining boundaries, and trauma-informed strategies.
Distribute and collect course evaluations; incorporate feedback as needed
Coordinate with the Training Department on scheduling, attendance, and session logistics
Participate in instructor orientation and follow agency training policies and procedures
Adapt instruction for virtual or in-person formats as needed (e.g., Zoom, Teams, classroom)
Minimum of 6 years of experience in clinical behavioral health, integrated care, and a specialization in addiction.
Demonstrated expertise in advanced ethical principles within clinical settings, maintaining professional boundaries in settings with vulnerable populations, pharmacological impacts of commonly misused substances, and the application of trauma-informed care principles.
Prior experience in teaching, training, or adult education
Familiarity with adult learning principles and inclusive facilitation practices
Strong communication and engagement skills
Direct experience in trauma-informed care, health care-ethics and/or clinical supervision
Bilingual ability is a plus
Proficiency with virtual instruction platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
Active related professional licensure or certification (e.g., LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, CASAC) preferred
Additional Information
This is a full-time exempt role with a salary of $75,000-$80,000. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 25 days of paid time off, access to a retirement account with an employer to match, and tuition reimbursement.
This role is based out of our Briarwood, Queens Headquarters but will be expected to travel throughout the 5 boroughs as needed to facilitate training.
The regular schedule for this role is Monday-Wednesday 12pm-9pm and Thursday & Friday 9am-5pm.
